That's what get's me about monism every time, Pat. It answers
everything and, in doing so, answers nothing. All is one and
everything else is just an illusion, caused by different perspectives/
points in the story. But the illusion is complete, perfect. We are
part of the story, writing and creating it through the choices that we
really make. The choices matter, saying in retrospect that was the way
it was meant to be doesn't change that. Seeing it from an overarching
monist perpective in which everything is just playing itself out has
no relevance to those (us) involved in the process. This brings me to
my usual reaction at the end of following monistic answers; all is
one, so what?
