frantheman was my handle during a period in the eighties when I spent some time as a dj on a pirate radio station in Dublin - "you're listening to fran the man on Wonderland radio!" (the jingle was put together by a friend of mine, who didn't consult me about the handle before simply splicing it in while I was on air). The first time I was asked for an "internet name" a couple of years ago, it crossed my mind spontaneously. No deeper meaning that I know of, apart from the fact that it describes my gender. :-)
