Welcome again Adam I sympathize with you as being the sheep in a room full of wolves. There are a few who would subscribe to your line of reason within but you will have to stay the course in order to pull them out of the woodwork. Scripture for the most part is as valuable as Aesop's fables and presents no more validity than that which the minds of humanity will accept as truth, however, when you consider what the minds of humanity have accepted as truth in the past, it doesn't take much to realize the fallacy of the presentation. Thanks to "scripture" many people died cruel deaths (and still are) while others stayed the course in a dungeon. Have you reviewed the trial of Galileo, the Crusades, the Salem Witch Hunt etc etc etc? I think humanity has the audacity to claim deity status and therefore has throughout history conceived notions of human godliness. It's all so ridiculous. The downfall of humanity is egoism and "religious books" are a valid representation of that ego. I think people are afraid to voice opinion against such ludicrous insanity in fear of being ostracized from their community, their peer group or at least to avoid the social stigma of non belief. This is my second post and most likely my last on this thread topic unless you, Adam, have rebuttal to offer in the form of some substantiated examples that scripture is anything more than fantasy. So far there is not one thing in any scripture that has shown itself to be anything more that just scripture. Please respond to my 1st and 2nd post, thank you!
