I think that there are different forms of prayer, and which we use
depends on whether we see God as someone or something external to us -
some all mighty force outside of our selves (anthropomorphic) - or
whether we see God as an integral part of ourselves and our highest
(or most complete) state of consciousness.  These two very different
concepts of God might call for different forms of prayer (but not
necessarily)
