You're right (almost right - there are still some good movies, and
there was /The Wire/), but this was radio, which has not yet been
taken over by the vampire zombie pods from outer space (although
they're working on it).

Oh, and '1980' is pushing it back far too far.  Yes, the process of
dehumanisation really started to get into its stride round about then,
but there remained bastions of resistance for a couple of decades
after that, at least. (Now it's just a few pockets of us bleary-eyed
fanatics living in the woods and wired on despair.)

Am I sounding paranoid enough now?  :-)
