Though I do not much see it necessarily as wicked or evil, the sadness remains, at children being deprived of their power to choose and prefer. Maybe, it cannot be allowed or might not be possible to provide for on each occasion, or is simply necessary to their learning and growing up process. But such taking away of volition is fraught with severely debilitating dangers, more unintended, that happen to come true all the time, all about us. It often takes a lifetime for us to come out of these setbacks of early life.
