For the past century, artists have successfully broken the boundaries of linear language and moved us into the sublime with poetry in cubist, impressionistic and surrealistic forms. Makes me wonder what James Joyce would have to say to a demand for concise language (after the night went on and the whiskey flowed.) The narcissist's demand that the world conform to their needs rarely does anything but isolate. Condemning someone for their use of language is a thinly veiled defense mechanism, whereas an honest search for common language may just break down those barriers to communication.
To any communication, we all bring our own style of language, system of semantics and experience. If we are willing to explore commonalities while setting aside differences, we may be able to reach understanding.
