This brings back memories some years back due to disgust with my fellow
Americans I felt the urge to buy plenty of French Fries (aka Chips), and
many bottles of Heinz catsup. Just to piss everyone off I often order a
Soda-Pop whether in the North or South. :d

Is this your insidious attempt at insulting a very important Mexican
celebration?
I think your post is nothing more than racist commentary based on
ignorance of the actual celebration of independence, "Cinco De Mayo"
which anyone with a smidgen of a brain knows is the recognition of
Mexican independence from France achieved at the battle of Puebla
which took place in 1862 during the month of May and on the 5th day of
the month.
You purport yourself as the enlightened one and then proffer garbage
such as this. How low are you willing to go Senior Ornamentalmind?
Only a sick puppy would post such racism.
You have something against Mexicans senior?
Slip, I think it was just a simple joke, not really intended to be
taken seriously nor intended to offend. Just a bit of levity. Un
chiste, Sabes? In 1912, Hellman's had only JUST bought their first
factory, so there's little chance that the product would have ALREADY
been so popular in Mexico. Heck, Hellman's didn't even make it to the
UK until 1961.

Most people don’t know that back in 1912, Hellmann’s mayonnaise was
manufactured in England. In fact the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars
of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which
was to be the net port of call for the great ship after its stop in
New York.
This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever
delivered to Mexico. But, as we know, the great ship did not make it
to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, the cargo was forever
lost.
The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were
eagerly awaiting its delivery were disconsolate at the loss. Their
anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning,
which they still observe to this day.
The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known,
of course, as Sinko de Mayo.- Hide quoted text -
