Vaguely related are Maureen Dowd's last two op/eds in the NYTimes
about Audrey Hepburn. They were daffy but she is a few years younger
than I am so I will correct her here. Audrey and Grace Kelly were
welcome "stars" to American culture as they imparted a "ladylike: look
and fashion versus Marilyn Monroe and Diana Dors or the sulty types
like Ava Gardner and Lana Turner. These women all slept around anyway.
An actress needs "skills".
