"What is the problem", you wonder, "with people helping people in a
disaster?". Perhaps on the Muslim view zukat -- (the fourth pillar of
Islam is almsgiving as an act of worship) -- does not extend to non-
muslims. Your view, like the Christian view, is to give aid the the
poor without regard for creed.

As George Weigel puts it in _faith, reason and the war against
jihadism_: "how men and women think about God -- or don't think about
God -- has a great deal to do with how they envision a just society,
and how they  determine the means by which to build that society. This
means taking theology seriously -- which includes taking seriously
people's concepts of God's nature and purposes".

For example, you mentioned "theistic religiosity". Is there any other
kind? For on the Catholic understanding Religion is "The voluntary
