Yes- we could probably still feed the world but it might be tougher than after WWII and some will not accept genetically altered seeds/ products. The problem is first of all incompetant or criminal rulers of third world countries down to the tribe chiefs. Our goal should be to export the idea of self-sufficiency although some countries (and areas in our own) are so ravaged by Nature, exploitation, abuse and after-effects of warfare that first they must try to repair and heal//.Our dust bowl was the result of overworked land and skipping rotation or latency periods- also not understanding the best uses of land- ex. Kansas grazing lands being turned ito wheat fields- also rivers and dams screwing up the water system and the effects on wildlife- so CA and AZ could have "green" lawns, etc.//Corporate farms exist to make a profit as few farmers can cope with it but the trade- off is often horrendous in regard to feed lot filth and overuse of antibiotics and pesticides. Sadly, none can escape the pollution of soil, air and water. Then there are all those spent uranium tipped munitions and landmines to consider and their effect on the future of other countries.
