I really should wait 24 hours before I express an opinion. My mind
floods with too many thoughts. I would recommend "Extraordinary
Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds" by Charles McKay- written
in the mid-19th C., it remains a meaningful analysis of the
phenomenon. I suppose I sounded like I was ranting but you might be
surprised at how many I know who have pulled the plug on nearly all
media- and they don't live as hermits.

And yes, I am aware of these types of marriages. I suppose they are
like the "arranged" marriages of the past in many ways. I used to
admire one but after many years came to see the woman more as a
reincarnation of the wife of composer, Richard Strauss. :-( And this
new deal cannot be any riskier than those driven by lust or love. One
could divorce on the grounds of feeling shrunk! I think pre and post
nups will be mandatory eventually and really more honest than some
shenanigans to extract money, etc. I will save comments about divorce
attorneys and courts. Then there is probate, alas- well covered by
Dickens in "Bleak House".

Back to Facebook, last night Charlie Rose may be heading in the same
direction with his show. One guest mentioned streaming comments at the
base of all screens. Oprah now has a 24 hour platform- cable channel.
So it seems to be the rage in our world but may not save Officer
Honors of the Enterprise- or do you think national leaders will
consult public opinion first? Is this related to Puritan stocks or
public executions? Well, there I go again...
