Pearl barley is great in soups- with beef or mushrooms. It takes a
long soak first and is a slow cook. Can also be a side dish like
risotto. Yes- it is healthy.//I do think alcohol in sensible amounts
are healthy to digestion and calms stress. The problem is when people
drink to the point of being insensible or they build up a toxic
reaction and their lives get messed up. But several foods, herbs can
be risky- too much sugar,salt or fat or munching hot chilies, etc.
Food safety,etc.// Try a Bloody Mary with V-8 juice and a double shot
of vodka- you could skip your vitamin pill! :-)
