What kind of energy? I had my last child at 40 and was quite energetic raising the children and beyond but now have given over the outside work to others- no more ladders, shovels, lawn mowers, etc. I still do all cooking and cleaning but need help with big jobs like painting. The house is orderly and really does not need the same care as when children were bouncing around :-). I love reading- yesterday was the Russian-Turkish war and today might be the Sepoy Rebellion- I drop in at various centuries of interest and have enough of an historical time- line in my head to place events properly though I seem to be reading backwards! I have heard from younger professionals that their dream of retirement is to curl up with all the books they still have no time to read so maybe I am normal afterall.
