I don't know. I'm not really clear on what 'categories of panic' means. As I understand it there are two reactions to fear - fight or flight. Typically in humans the higher functions of the brain shut down and allow the more primitive instincts to take over. In effect, in a raw survival situation, we become little more than animals ourselves. Of course there are different levels of anxiety with panic being the extreme. But, even there we aren't any different in the actual feeling of anxiety. I would hazard a guess that the only difference would be in the way we internalize our anxiety after the fact. As to my reply to the previous post; of course it was a joke. I doubt animals think much about jesus or god. If anything, I'd imagine that they see us as their gods. > > This evening I heard a rattle on the driveway gate and I opened the > door to see if a neighbor child was retrieving a ball that had flown > over the fence.
