to take the bad / useless and turn it into the good /usefull ; to be productive ; to do good , wether for for self or through sacrifice ; is this not the motivating force ( self preservation comes first , but perhaps this motivation is a means of achieving preservation ) of the common person ? but good motivations can be twisted - (puritens/salam W/trials - crusades - einstines work on the atom - ) into an unforeseen horor .
we seem to think that we control nature and not the other way around , that nature / the earth , isnt alive and is incapable of defending itself - someone made a comment a few days ago " i wonder what the animals think of us humans ?" how will it remember us as a species after we anihalate ourselves and a good portion of life on the surface of the planet ?
