I've had dreams where I was different animals, but most of the thinking 
seemed 'insane' to me. In time, once time has passed and our pets have 
forgotten, and our over specialized breeds have either died out or 
naturalized I don't think any of them will really think of it. Perhaps dogs 
will instinctually feel some unfulfilled desire for lack of the warm 
campfire we've shared over the centuries, or working in tandem on a hunt, 
etc..
