I have read articles about warping spacetime to get around Relativity but
the concept is essentially the same thing as the way gravity warps
spacetime. With our current understanding of the laws of nature the only way
scientists know of to warp spacetime is with gravity and the only way to
create gravity is with mass. LOTS of mass.

If we can gain some understanding of how to control the Higg's Boson we
might be able to manipulate gravity but I think it's something that may
require huge amounts of energy. Something on a scale that might be
unpractical for any starship less than planet-sized.
