Music is also a political, military, cultural tool. Richard Strauss is fantastic but associated with Nazis, henpecked by his wife and stingy with his orchestra- even cheating them. The eye and ear directly affect the brain in proportion to sensitivity or understanding so some seem immune to the effects which are tuned out. It is a shame that public education has cut music and art from the curriculum.
