Good point RP - though still the same one in reverse.  500,000 women were 
trafficked in the year following the demise of the USSR and we are squalid 
too.  I would not negate the role of culture in this.  Our Stone Age 
neighbours do some amazing things because of it.  Every town has its bonobo 
tree often unpleasant sexual practices.  In the 17th century Germans used 
to write on the open paedophile prostitution in London.
