Ah! That was a bad idea from me to try on the first place then.

Hold on. Does that also mean that if i install the regular MSYS,
then i extract the MinGW-w64 version on top of it, it will work? Or
let's say i use the MinGW-w64 version of MSYS, and then manually
get files from the regular MSYS and drop them in my filesystem tree
at the right place, it will work? Aren't the runtime DLLs different
from one to the other?

So let's say i just put the original mingw-get binary in the
MinGW-w64 version, it would then work with other programs

Then what is the point of the MinGW-w64 version of the MSYS
package? Only changes to /etc or something more complex?
