Dear Earnie, > What file type are you trying to archive/unarchive? MSYS provides > msys-zip and msys-unzip for .zip files. Also there is a msys-xz which > will pack/unpack .lzma and .xz. > So do you really need 7zip and if so why? i really need 7z. The reason is that i'm using Qt IFW that uses the 7z format internally, and my packaging scripts are outputing packages that will later on be read by the Qt IFW installer that has been built.

That's exactly what i'm doing right now, as the command line switches from the Windows version of 7zip is exactly the same as the 7za i used to have. Thank you for your time Earnie!
