Yeah it looks like a bug in CMD. Both PowerShell and `FindFirstFile()` accepts `\\host\\\share` without issues.
I would like to hear about what others think. My opinion is that the share name is part of the volume name (like `C:` and `\\?\C:`) and is not a path component.
