Save your self from trouble.
Backup /etc, /root, /home and whatever custom you have
like pkg_info
Install, do the diff -ru /etc etc_backup/
and apply the changes.
Better run now than later when the system is in production
and you don't know why xzy binary or library shows you the finger.
