You're right! It just needed time, a couple of hours in fact! My aplogies for my lack of patience, experience and knowledge. I only started using openbsd recently after a long hiatus of several years (installed 7.8 less than two months ago). And this is the first time I've done a sysupgrade so I didn't know what to expect on the packages front. And I should have run pkg_add with verbose mode on. And I should have paid attention to the cpu usage widget in the xfce panel, or I should have run top in another terminal to know that a lot of perl activity was going on and pkg_add was not "stuck"! So, basically, lot of novice mistakes :) Sorry. Thanks for your inputs. Regards.
