Hello,
I just finished an installation of OpenBSD/i386 4.1
on my machine, it's a fairly vanilla
Athlon 64 3200+.
After the installation I had to find out that there is
no text cursor (the blinking underscore,
to avoid misunderstandings),
not at the login prompt, and not at the shell prompt.
I tried logging in as root, and at the prompt for the terminal,
I tried all of:
vt100, vt220, cons25, xterm, screen
I don't have a cursor in vi or screen, either.
Then I tried swapping the videocard, I replaced my Radeon 8500
with a GeForce Ti 4200, but the problem persisted.
However: I did the install with a floppy (floppy41.fs), and
during the install I had a cursor.
I should perhaps add that I had OpenBSD 3.9 or 4.0 installed
on this box a while back, and I *think* the cursor worked back then.
But I should mention that this was OpenBSD/amd64 and not OpenBSD/i386.
I thought maybe wsconscfg -e vt220 could help, but I always got an
error of either 'console is already configured', or, when I tried to
delete a console, 'hardware not configured' or something like that.
I searched the web and asked the nice people of #openbsd on the
Freenode IRC Network, but to no avail.
I would be really grateful for any help in this matter,
a system without a text cursor is pretty useless to me.
Finally, I've included a dmesg output as an attachment.
