actually HP (Compaq) and Sun are quite good in this arena. Sun has used the same Brackets basically forever, there are only differences between 1" and 1.6" - and you can even use the 1" for 1.6" drives, should you want to use such a historic beast. Sun is even using the same brackets for SCSI, SATA, and FC. the SATA ones use a different color but are identical mechanically. ever since Compaq switched away from the light beige carriers to teh ones with the black handle they haven't changed eitehr. they have different knobs for FC and SCSI to porevent one to be plugged into the other slot; one some of the brackes these knobs are screws you can add/remove. -- Henning Brauer, [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] BS Web Services, http://bsws.de Full-Service ISP - Secure Hosting, Mail and DNS Services Dedicated Servers, Rootservers, Application Hosting - Hamburg & Amsterdam
