to get openbsd working with your adaptec you need to get another i386 machine (like your laptop). you need to download and install the latest snapshot from here: ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/snapshots/i386. once you have a machine running -current you need to get the latest sources from anoncvs, see www.openbsd.org/anoncvs.html for details. then you need to enable aac driver in both GENERIC and RAMDISK_CD configs. then read carefully man release and do exacly what it says. if you do everything right i'll get an openbsd45.iso that you can try to install. now please go work. -- Alexander Yurchenko
