In my case, I am using the latest master.
Your patch adapted to my plugin is not collecting any resource:
std::vector<us::ModuleResource> resources = module->FindResources("/",
"*", true);
MITK_INFO << "number of resources found: " << resources.size(); // outputs 0
I will push my branch soon in case you want to have a look at it directly.
I will also apply your patch to the imagenavigator
