Yep, I haven't found the need to comment on the (fantastic) logos until now, but I think putting a DJ in there is not a good idea (unless maybe it can be very subtly and tastefully done)..
Mixxx is something that came out of/built upon analgue DJing, and conflating vinyl DJs with mixxx is a bit cheesy/gimmicky - digital DJing is a new frontier etc. (disclaimer: I'm primarily a vinyl DJ) ----- Original Message ---- From: Tuma <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, 17 December, 2007 11:26:12 PM Subject: Re: [Mixxx-devel] Fwd: logo 2.0 Mixxx is a Software. And all what DJs see when playing is Wave(!). So I think Mixxx logo is not place for DJ itself, turntables and so on. You idea maybe good for retail box for turntable or any other hardware. But I think logo 2.0 is really good for Mixxx. =) It shows what Mixxx really is - DJ software, and shows how work in it (Mixxx) goes - by playing waves (position cursor, sines and so on). I can say - Logo 2.0 shows the Sound itself. And it's very original. =) On Tuesday 18 December 2007 12:09 am, Garth Dahlstrom wrote: > My 2 cents... > > While I like elements of the logos so far (I like the font on the first > set, makes me think of m-audio), I think the logo needs a DJ in there. > > I can't draw for crap, but I'll describe how I can envision fitting one in. > > 1) First possibility -> replacing the M: > DJ with arms reaching slightly out to each side, each hand resting on a > turntable.
