>From my experience vinyl control needs to be a line level. You could use a phono preamp. I used to have one from Radio Shack that takes 9 volt battery. Although, I think a better way to do it is get a studio mixer (I use a soundcraft compact4) and use the "record out" to send a line level to your sound card and "monitor out" to go to your PA system. Its also nice because there are separate eq and more capabilities for future expansion.
