This is a bit of a tangle of a question... I currently run mixxx with two sound cards: an M-Audio M2496 for mains, and a Creative USB "card" for headphones. Works fine -- but what is the audio latency story between two dissimilar cards? I swear I can hear a difference in timing between the two.
What WOULD be a decent setup for this? The following isn't really a mixxx question, but it's related. I'd like to use mixxx with jack. My only problem is binding two sounds cards into one so that ALSA can interface it to jackd. I find ALSA's docs on binding two cards into one to be incredibly obscure, and I've not succeed in making it work. Most recipes are for bindin two high-end cards together word clocks and all, for high-performance use; all I want is my M2496 M-Audio card as mains and my USB card for headphones -- I know there will be imprecise timing between the two outputs, but will it be (1) imperceptible and (2) stable within a few clock edges? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Mixxx-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mixxx-devel
