If you are running Mixxx on windows or osx, there's midi drivers for
all the herc devices and they work via mixxx's midi bindings. If you
are using Linux there is no midi drivers (email herc support and tell
them you want drivers), avoid the MP3 (cause libdjconsole can't init
it and there is a very crap file deviced based implementation), I was
told if they did drivers they wouldn't do the for the Mk1, so avoid
that one as well...

As far as the Mk2 goes it works via libdjconsole, the joystick at the
top is useless (very imprecise) is not supported at all, otherwise
these aren't bad. The RMX has clearier sound at low volume, has
direrction buttons instead of the joystick (which work fine in
libdjconsole), it's bigger and heavier because it is made of metal...
Overall it is nice and seems to work decently well.

All the linux herc specific code will be dropped in favour of midi, if
and when herc does midi drivers for linux.

I should write something on the wiki that explains things in more
details because these questions come up every so often.
