I should have prefaced my comments about the Hercules Console MP3 that, while it works fine at the moment, I wouldn't buy one again, due to the support issues. I've given up on the LED problem -- doesn't mean that I LIKE that :-)
I bought the MP3 version not to be cheap (I bought an M2496!), but because I wanted to divorce the midi interface from the sound card. I would still do that part. The M-Audio M2496 is a great card, but with only two (usable) outputs (the other two for headphones on a different card) I can't use jack. I'm not sure what I'd buy for a soundcard in the if-I-had-to-do-it-over-again scenario. The bottom line for me is: ! Gotta have four outs for DJing (main, headphones stereo each) minimum * jackd needs them all to be in "one device" (real or virtual) * ALSA multicard binding is a major PITA ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Mixxx-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mixxx-devel
