I haz one: Intel ICH9 chipset integrated AC'97 audio. Not exactly uncommon. Otherwise I share your observations, but I think it's better for Mixxx to be as plug-n-play as possible (and include trying 44.1kHz in the tips & tricks) than greet new users with an error that their sound card couldn't be opened, especially newcomers that are likely auditioning Mixxx on whatever sound card happens to ship with their system. (In addition, I've seen a surprising number of MP3s that are actually 48kHz.) I had forgotten that I filed a bug for this too awhile ago, FYR: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/524292 Sincerely, Sean M. Pappalardo "D.J.
