Ok fair enough. I agree with the principle of making mixxx work
out-of-the-box for as many people as possible. But don't really
understand why it's necessary to default to a single bitrate. Can't it
just try setting 44.1, and if that fails, set 48?

There's *one* in my entire collection (10,000 or so), and that's a
promo direct from the producer!

I'm not opposed to this if really will make the difference between no
sound and sound for some users, it just seems surprising to me that
any sound driver would not provide a 44.1kHz mode!
