[Mjpeg-users] Red Hat 8.0 build problem

Actually off topic but I can't get there from here. I need to install Avifile to install mjpegtools to satisfy dependencies. Avifile requires divx for linux. Downloaded from divx.com ran the install script as per instructions. (./install.sh) got no messages as well as no errors but the dependecies for avifile (libdivxdecore.so.o and libdivxencore.so.o ) remain unsatisfied. (as am I) It seems that everytime I try and install mjpegtools, avifile has allways and without question been problematic. What am I doing wrong. I cannot compile from tar.gz (cvs) either. A morras of warnings and recrsive errors. Help
