Talking from my experince only: I am converting some Video-8 (Analog)
tapes to digital material (Divx).
I have a Sony PC100E miniDV camcorder. First I try to digitize the
Analog material connecting the Analgo camcorder with the Sony PC100E but
I was not satisfied with the results.
Aferwards I got my Canopus ADVC-100 and now everything is different
:))
If your main intention is to convert from Analog to Digital
I would go for the Canopus.
Best regards,
