Funny that - I don't have a Radio in the 16V 'coz some W@nker
<mailto:W@nker>  stole it. I don't have a radio in the Rallye as there's
enough to do and I like to hear the WwwooooOOO noises.... Am planning on
getting some sounds in the Rallye soonish before I drive from Hungary to
England for GTI International tho'

        engine roar at 180km/h is ok, but dont tell me you go down the
        street at this speed ;-)
        If girl hears you across the city,  then its exhaust noise, and
obviously
        because of broken studs.  It does not sounds  like simple hole in
        muffler of course.

        If the studs snapped at the surface of manafold, you will have to
drill
        out those studs. If there are still something left from them you can
try
        to loosen them with very strong grips, but I doubt. Kinda not easy. 
        Dont hammer them, 16V manafold costs a fortune, even used.
        But you might need to visit junkyard to get replacement studs, I
doubt
        dealer have them, they might kindly sell you whole manafold though.

        About engine roar, my 16V roars quite loud when it goes past
3500rpms
        especially since airbox mod. It screams at 180Km/h, love that. It
gives a
        feel you really drive car with soul. I dont need radio.
