Nope, no way I can afford full-out coilovers. Even if I could afford it, I couldn't justify it. For only street driving and auto-x'ing on the weekend, coilovers would be overkill. > Remember, you have coilover suspension right now... the back may even be adjustable for ride height... they just aren't threaded. huh? >The thing that I'd like to point out is that you probably will never adjust the >suspension once you get it dialed in... it's a serious pain to do it and unless you have >scales for all four wheels, it's probably going to be set up incorrectly anyways! Actually, I like to go to the drag strip every once in a while to show up street racers (ricers?), and tune the car, so I would want the adjustability. There's a race at a 1/2 mile oval track near where I live that I go to as well, so I would want to change the right-left balance when I get there. What about taking the wheels off and using a ruler to measure how far up or down the perches are when adjusting them? That would be accurate enough, right? That's what I did when I had another car with fully adjustable, rebuildable shocks/springs. Well, it might have been an R/C car, but setting it up is just like a real car, pretty much. Uses the same concepts anyway. Heh heh. ;) Jim Weinheimer [email protected] 85 GTI _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
