the reason the damn things dont break is due to the ROLL MOUNTS that are
installed and are only there to keep things from goin to far. when the
engine rolls back from a hard take off these pins bascially horizontally
stick out just under the uni body wich are surrounded by jsut a very small
amount of rubber wich will keep the mounts from ever extending to extremes.
they are bolted both trans and engine side up front and arent much in
construction. the rear and front do tend to break and arent noticed to much
later due to the rolls mounts that will keep the motor in place even once
they are worn out, if you are familiar enough with how things should be or
drive it you will indeed notice the bit of slop in most. VW doesnt have
these tho i have considered copying the design due to the effectiveness.
hope that made sense im not very good at explaining in emails when im tired
cheers
