Ryan,

This past week I used Castrol Super Clean Spray Foam on my 20 yr old Rabbit
engine.
Talk about baked on, caked on grease, grime, dirt, etc.

Anyway this stuff cut through the grease, grime, dirt, etc. very well.
It was easier for me since the engine is out of the vehicle now and
on a homemade engine stand/dolly. Obviously you want to protect any and all
electrical connections when doing your engine.

BTW, the Castrol Super Clean Spray Foam seemed to do a better job of
cleaning for
me compared to the full strenght spray (no foam) version I have also used.
