Earlier this week I had an unfortunate incident with some oil in the engine compartment, so I'm leaving work early today to go home and degrease my engine. (The smell of burning oil on the exhaust manifold sucks.) I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the most effective way to do this. I bought a can of some spray degreaser from the auto store. Any word on how good this stuff works? I figure I'll cover the distributor and throttle body with plastic bags. Is there some other stuff I should cover up? I guess I should probably disconnect the battery too.
