Well basically the new 4 motion Passat is a stripped down A6. Same V6, and same AWD system. You can a preview drive test on VWVortex.
That does seem like a lot though. $30k seems more reasonable. Even though the Passat is somewhat larger, my money would go for an Audi A4. Dave.
