Garrick,
I had to replace the starter in the '92 a couple of years ago. ND installed
a Bosch remanufactured unit. Turns out Bosch gives you a free two year road
side assistance policy with their rebuilt starters and alternators. If the
car won't start due to starter or alternator problems, they provide a free
jump start or tow! They give you a card with an account number and 800
phone number.

I'd stick with the Bosch, regardless of cost difference. I've had to use
the "AutoZone" type rebuilt alternators a couple of times on my Blazer (on
vacation, like four states away from home), and they don't hold up too well.
True, it's a free replacement, but that doesn't cover any labor (pouring
down rain in Jackson Hole, WY, in the Western Auto parking lot)). I think
with those "AutoZone" jobs, they just look for a core with compatible
dimensions and mounting scenario, so you could end up with a Nippon Denso,
Hitachi, AC Delco, whatever, any of which may have inferior designs when
compared to the OEM unit that you are replacing (this is a generalization).
