I have to toss in my $.02 on this one. The ARP head studs do not cause
gasket failures. If they are properly installed they have much higher and
more even clamping pressure. They factory stretch bolts are a liability at
best. We include ARP head studs in all of our turbo kits for one simple
reason: to prevent head gasket failure from higher peak cylinder pressure.
They are pricey but so is putting in a second head gasket and they will
eliminate the weeping head gasket on the back side of the block. Best of
