As someone who is about to drop a nice pile of cash on a rebuilt block, head, cams, etc., I thought it was my responsibility to respond.
I think you underestimate how expensive it is to mod other cars. Good E30 M3s are still going for twice, the better ones for three times + the price I paid for my GLI two years ago. While suspension components are roughly comparable in price, parts for the motor are through the roof! What Audi combines the light weight and easy power of an A2 16v?
