When I got my ticket last year, I tried the overpaying method, that was discussed on this list a while back. I overpayed by $5, got a check back and never cashed it. My premium stayed the same and I never heard anything from my Insurance company (Geico). I don't know whether or not it worked, but that was my case. I still have to get a copy of my driving record to verify it. But that was the advice passed along a couple of years back and I used it with that ticket.
