My '87 GTI 16V came with 195 60 14's and I didn't like the way it handled
with them.
It handled better with 185 60 14's and even better with 195 50 15's.
My "rest in pieces" '87 16V Scirocco isn't much lighter than an A2 and it
also handled really bad with the 195 60 14's, that the previous owner had
installed, thinking wider is better.
Btw, before I traded the four 195 60 14 tires for a Yamaha amp and tuner,
I installed them on my girl's '86 GLi, because she neede tires, and she
hated them.
Peter- who has almost gotten rid of all of his 195 60 14's.
