It's an easy job. While you don't have to take the endplate off, it's
probably a good idea and it will make the job easier. You don't need a seal
puller if you're just throwing the old seal away, just take care not to
gouge the seal housing. Before installing the seal, clean the endplate off
and apply some silicone where the seal sits. It takes a little bit of work
to get the seal into the plate but it's not bad. Just don't lose the spring
inside the new seal and you'll be fine.
